After the entry deadline date, a preliminary judging panel will consider all entries and select up to ten Finalists for each category. If you are selected as a Finalist, you will be notified by email on Friday 2 September, by the Awards entry team.
We then invite a max of two representatives from each entry (one for Individual Excellence) to attend a Judging Day at The Madejski Stadium, Reading on Friday 30 September.
Technology, Organisational and Project Excellence Finalists will be asked to give a short presentation of their entry to the judges. Individual Excellence Finalists will be interviewed by the Judges.
Please note, if you have been selected as a Finalist in more than one category, you will be required to present to each category judging panel.

• What can we expect at the Judging Day?
A busy day! We have use of the ‘Director's Boxes' at the stadium. Over 50 judges will simultaneously judge each of the 23 categories throughout the day. You will be invited to give a short presentation of your entry or interview for Individual Excellence Finalists, to the panel.
The judges will convene at the end of the day to determine the overall winner and up to two medallists in each category. The results will be announced at the awards dinner.
• How many people can attend the Judging Day Presentation?
Technology/Organisation/Project Excellence - No more than two representatives per entry.
Individual Excellence - only the Individual Finalist can be interviewed.
• Can I receive feedback from my Presentation?
Unfortunately it is not possible to provide feedback to finalists. The judges' decision is final. Please refer to our entry Terms and Conditions.
• What are the judges looking for?
Each of the categories has defined criteria that entrants must answer. Just as in a job application the judges are looking for hard evidence that the entry has addressed the criteria.
Judges are NOT impressed with pages of marketing material. You should also aim to provide measures of success and quotes from customers and/or users. The key question to ask yourself is "can someone read this entry once and understand what we have achieved and why it deserves to win?" If the answer is no then re-work it.
• How many judges will sit on each panel?
A maximum of three. A full list of the judges is available on the website. We are unable to advise the names of the judges in your category in advance.
• How long will my judging session last?
Judging slots will be allocated between 10.00am - 4.15pm on a first-come, first-serve basis. You have the option to select a morning/afternoon preference, which we will do our best to meet.
You will be issued a time slot a week in advance. Please arrive 20 minutes prior for registration.
A total of 25 minutes has been allocated for your judging session:
Individual Excellence
• 20 min interview for Individual Excellence Finalists
Organisational, Technology & Project Excellence
* 5 min set-up
* 10 min for your presentation
* 10 min Q&A with the Judges
• Do I need to bring a laptop?
No. A laptop will be provided for you in the judging room. Each laptop will support PowerPoint (Office 2007 pro with 2003 pro plug ins) and Adobe Reader. Please note there is no Internet connection available and no support for Office 2010.
Simply come along with your presentation ready loaded to a USB. You will be given 5 mins to prepare. Your presentation will be projected onto a large plasma screen.
Individual Excellence Finalists - your session will be in the form of an interview and therefore, laptop/presentation facilities are not required.
• What should I bring?
Just a USB with your presentation ready-loaded. Small examples of your work will be permitted.
Individual Excellence Finalists are not required to bring anything.
Please note we are unable to permit the use of personal laptops.
• Who am I up against?
A full list of category Finalists will be available on the Awards website on Monday 5 September. There are up to 10 finalists selected in each category. Each entry/individual will be judged separately throughout the day.
• What if I'm a Finalist in more than one category?
You will be required to present your entry / interview to each category judging panel. We will do our best to allocate your time slots as close to each other as possible.
• Are refreshments provided?
Tea & coffee will be available on arrival. The Madejski Stadium has a café on the ground floor.
